อย่างไรก็ตาม กองทัพบกขอประณามการกระทำอันรุนแรงและไร้มนุษยธรรมของฝ่ายกัมพูชา จากกรณีที่มีการใช้อาวุธจรวด BM-21 จำนวน 2 นัด ยิงเข้ามาในพื้นที่ชุมชนภายในศูนย์พัฒนาพื้นที่ชายแดน อำเภอกาบเชิง จังหวัดสุรินทร์ เหตุการณ์ดังกล่าวส่งผลให้ราษฎรได้รับบาดเจ็บจำนวนมาก ซึ่งฝ่ายไทยได้ดำเนินการอพยพประชาชนออกจากพื้นที่โดยทันที เพื่อความปลอดภัยของชีวิตและทรัพย์สิน ในขณะนี้ หน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องของกองทัพบกกำลังเฝ้าติดตามและประเมินสถานการณ์อย่างใกล้ชิด พร้อมทั้งเตรียมมาตรการรองรับอย่างรอบด้าน ทั้งนี้ หากมีความคืบหน้าเพิ่มเติม จะได้รายงานให้ทราบต่อไปโดยเร็วที่สุด
